Before I say anything, I have to preface it by saying I really, really hope everything I say is wrong. But I hate the Maker pick. I think the guy is 23, not 19, and this means he's not real likely to add weight, and his upside through skill development is limited. I'm also suspicious of anyone that does a "post-graduate" year of high school. What do you have to hide? Players with real skill go to college or play overseas for a year. Way, way, way too many questions for this guy to draft him #10. You want a skinny guy with huge upside? Skal was sitting there. I'm sure that guy is 19 and while he underwhelmed, he didn't hide last year. Similar upside with less risk IMO.
That being said, I love the philosophy that guided the pick. Rather than settling for a guy that's destined to be a perennial 7th man, the Bucks once again went big and took a guy they thought had superstar upside. I applaud their approach, but I think their scouting department let them down this year. However, they did get this Giannis pick right, so maybe I'm being overly critical. I hope I look back at this one in a year and laugh at how wrong I was.

Completely stoked with the Lakers getting Ingram. The youth there is pretty exciting, actually. D'Angelo, Clarkson, Ingram... Randle. The makings of a good team in a few years.

Thon is the same exact size of Tyson Chandler, skinnier waist, but still the potential for growth is there. I think the Bucks play him 10-15mpg at PF mostly this year and I think practices with Mirza and Novak help improve his shooting. His post game will come when he figures out how to use his athleticism around the hoop. I think Thons ceiling is fairly high but for right now showing signs of PnR D, offensive rebounding, and 3pt shooting should get him on the floor. I really like some of the versatility that he gives us on the floor with his length a quickness. Put Henson under the hoop with Giannis and Thon on either side and just try and shoot corner 3s against us. Should be fun

Great summer league performance + drafting him in dynasty league = one huge fan He is way further along than I anticipated. Now that Kidd can't be tempted to play Johnny O'Bryant or Damien Inglis, we might actually put a playoff-quality product on the floor. Can't wait for the season to begin!
