Alright who do you guy think will pose the greatest threat to the Heat?
Let's face it, Miami Heat will represent the East and the only obstacle is a Bulls team with a "healthy" Rose. Still, it would be quite hard to see the Heat not represent with home court throughout the playoffs.
Fortunately for the Heat, they would only have to play one team in the West, OKC, SAS, LAC, possible Denver???
It's still early days, and the playoffs is a whole new ball game. I would have liked OKC to represent but without Harden I can't see them beating the Heat. So I would have to say SAS, given how deep they are, with playoff experience and Pops coaching. Having said that, getting past OKC is no easy feat (despite SAS pounding them yesterday).

Just wanted some thoughts as I've already slammed AUD $800 on the Heat to win, and considering putting another AUD $800!

Every year since their last championship I usually hear about the Spurs being contenders and yet they crash come playoff time. I don't think it'll be any different this season.
Bottom line is I can't see anyone stopping the heat and even if Rose were healthy, the bulls wouldn't stand much of a chance either. Heat are too strong with LeBron now having a taste of what a championship feels like.
The Thunder are the closest threat out there however I cannot see them derailing this heat team unless Westbrook starts to play more like a PG (and not an idiot jacking up all kinds of nonsense)
$800 is a pretty safe bet right about now.

Thanks for your input Roosts. Yeah, the only way I could see Heat losing is if one of their superstars get injured. Heat at times play really crappy against mediocre teams but turn on the Heat against good teams ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Fortunately for the Heat, they would only have to play one of the powerhouse teams in the finals!

Hate to sound like a homer, But I think the Spurs have the best chance of all of the teams. The Spurs have the depth and diversity and experience to Get to the finals but Once they get there can they beat Miami ehhh I'm not so sure. The heat are on a historic pace, I am not sure it matters who the West puts up against them this season. The Lakers 33 game winning streak was in 1972 or 74? Didn't think I would live to see anybody get close to that but the heater getting closer and closer.
We will just have to see how Tony Parker comes back from that ankle. Despite last seasons baffling mind freeze against Oklahoma City, I don't think San Antonio fears them at all especially since they lost Hardan. Denver is hot but the Spurs usually have their number. I think the most dangerous team to San Antonio is still Memphis. The grizzlies give the spurs so much trouble, That's the matchup the spurs would probably most want to avoid.
The biggest threat in the east to the heat ) If such a thing exists) I still think is Indiana. Last year in the playoffs Indiana I had Miami on the ropes for a minute there, But then they got cocky and started running their mouths and LeBron dumped it all over them. Not having Danny Granger is no big deal to them, But this new David West injury could be a serious problem As they have very little chance with West at less than 100%. Either way I can't say I like their chances too much.
Chicago has no chance with or without Rose. They look like they are completely out of gas right now, I can only imagine how haggard they are going to be coming out of a tough first round match only to meet the heat Resting off of their sweet In the previous round. New York was looking promising for a few seconds there But they have fallen back to typical.
Besides Indiana, I guess the only other remotely possible dark horses are Atlanta and New Jersey. Both teams have high-quality point guards (Which has given the heat trouble in the past) And both teams have very high-quality centers (Which has also given Miami trouble in the past).
Not saying any of these teams will beat Miami in a series, But hopefully these teams won't let Miami make it a total cakewalk to the finals.

I don't know whether this is a good or bad thing for Miami Heat but during their historic run, they have often gone through very bad starts, (teams like OKC and SA will undoubtedly capatilise on that), when I mean bad starts I mean being down 15-20+ points.
Having said that the Heat always rise against quality opposition, and whats more, they should be given credit for battling back through more than a few big deficits during this run. Don't know whether this makes them even more scary...
I think the Spurs are playing great basketball with Parker back. Defense wins games in a Finals and I just don't know whether the Spurs have that in them these days (since Bowen retired, spurs don't play much D)...Memphis is Spurs biggest challenge (big bodies) but with Gasol potentially playing with injuries, hopefully it'll slow them down but Memphis is certainly one to watch out for.
I also like Denver as a dark horse in the West. They defend their home court so well...
