It is a few weeks overdue but I thought I would get our annual nba Gen. discussion thread underway.
Managers from both leagues are welcome to comment year round.
As always I will follow this thread until my spurs are knocked out of the playoffs at which time I will shut my brain down for three months.
Let's get started.
A lot of great storylines to follow in the league this year.
Some general comments about the league and the state of it...
This new motion sensor camera technology is amazing. This season I have immersed myself in the new analytics and math And I have to admit, It has really made some changes in how I think of fantasy basketball.
Victor O and MCW Would appear the early favorites for rookie of the year. mCW Has a big edge in my mind.
Dwight Howard goes to Houston. So far so good.
Portland is on to a hot start. Looks like they actually have a semi serviceable bench for once.
The spurs are back in appear to be as good as ever. The plan is to play hard and win a lot of games and go for the championship again And along the way nobody is ever going to think about or say a single fucking word about game six. Ever.
The clippers showed a lot of promise in the off-season. But now that we are a month into the season I think they are as overrated as ever.redick Now injured for up to 8 weeks.
OKC Has a lot of pressure this year. They have to win the west, They have to get to the finals, Otherwise what is the point?
I thought Atlanta made a mistake by getting milsap To play next to horford. Maybe it wasn't possible given the market, But they really needed to find a Center to play Horford at power forward full-time.
The Lakers signed Coby for 48 mil. A lot of mixed feelings on that move.
I remember when San Antonio signed David Robinson in his last year to a one year $20 million contract. But in David's case he had been underpaid for years So we could sign other free agents and we owed it to him For all that he had done throughout his career. Oh, And as it turned out, He was worth every penny.
New York and Brooklyn are not very good and pretty much are basketball irrelevant. The media can talk about them all they want, But I won't.
Why do the Toronto Raptors hate Jonas Valenciunas?
I don't know what's going on in Charlotte. They got Al Jefferson, Which struck me as kind of a waste of time and money. Maybe they needed to sell ugly posters? Coty Z Is trying to go bust on us After a promising off-season, But I can't have a lot of faith in a guy that can't outplay Josh McNumbnuts.
The Denver Nuggets are holding it together surprisingly well. Losing McGee to injury was the best thing that ever happened to them.
Milwaukee seems to have as good a chance as anybody to make the playoffs in the east. Speaking from the outside looking in I can't say I quite understand what they are doing over there. I'm sure the Wisconsin guys in here could illuminate me.
Despite having Anthony Davis, New Orleans is one of three teams under 500 in the west. That kind of dominance is supposed to translate into wins, Not happening yet.
Boston seems to have a number of interesting pieces. Rondo Could come back and they could win the Atlantic, For whatever that's worth.
That's just to get the thread started. There is a lot going on, Feel free to chime in on anything you want.
