Confirmed.
My team is still a work in progress and hopefully I am not trading myself into mediocrity. All four of these guys are near the low-end of their trade value atm and I figured both Phoenix and I are banking on better things to come. I lose a lot in points scoring but hopefully gain something in other areas I am lacking.

risky UA, feels great for suns
kawhi is solid, but you'd to rate melo higher which means your banking on wiggins out performing deng by a fair margin to make up the difference, not sure its gonna happen mate but good luck to you both
melo/love is a dynamic duo thats for sure
*looks at schedule*
next week bulldogs V's Suns

Heheh sorry about that bb. Hopefully these guys do exactly what they are supposed to do and Phoenix and I will both be happy. Mello and deng represent 2 different types of assets to me. Melo is a superstar scoring machine and ultimately I think he will be fine with the new system in New York, but since I don't really prioritize scoring I thought I would see what I would get for him. Deng on the other hand I have been having growing suspicions on whether he can play an entire season anymore, he has back issues among other things, and some of his stats have been on a disturbing Multi year trend. Will he be okay and play out the whole season without incident? He is playing now so maybe. My gut is telling me no. One thing is for sure if I wait around for him to get hurt he is untradable and I am screwed. Not that I am wishing any harm on him, phx, he just scares me and I already have a few guys on my team that I don't entirely trust. I also take kind of a mutual fund approach in managing my fantasy teams and my deng coverage is very high in multiple leagues but my Leonard and wiggins ownership is very low.
Wiggins is a gamble. I expect he will have his share of mediocre two bad games this season in Minnesota but his potential to have a handful of really explosive statistical games intrigues me.

I don't really have an issue with it, granted though I can never understand the love people have for Kawhi in fantasy. He's one of those guys that in real life? Amazing, great young player, but in fantasy? Every single season he seems to be heavily overrated.
Wiggins kinda evens it out, kid can only improve more where as Deng is pretty meh, you know what you're getting with him.
Suns definitely wins this deal though.

Kawhi is great in roto or if you're punting points, imo. Reckon Suns get the two best players in this deal right now, but Kawhi and/or Wiggins could take a big step during this season (whereas Melo and Deng are what they are).

5 games into the season - am I alone in thinking this is daylight robbery?

Ha thanks for that Spurs...
Trading a known 1st round quantity and another known quantity in Deng who will continue to see a bigger load as the season progresses in Miami.
for
A really overrated head-head fantasy player in Kawhi, and an unknown quantity in Wiggins whose value stems more from future potential rather than anything tangible that he will produce on the season. He will naturally improve as we progress, but his value of where he is rated will likely only be serviceable for the back end of the season - until then he is what he is, a 10-12 ppg scorer offerring steals and little else.
That just screams of an overly reactive move after one week of the season. Never said I would veto, I hold a pretty high threshold for trades. As mentioned though, Suns clearly gets a better deal here.

Gee wiz pp, you are going to make me cry. What I think these players will be doing in the back half of the season weighed heavily into my decision. I know it is early in the year but I don't need a very large sample size to recognize that my team has flaws. I understand my move seems unnecessarily speculative in the present, i'm banking on it working out for me overtime. Hoping my planned cure doesn't kill the patient, but I felt my roster as constructed was going to be Dead on arrival come playoff time anyway.

So maybe this trade wasn't such a screaming over reaction after all…
I make my judgments on players probably a little earlier than other people do, but it seemed clear to me that mellow and deng where at best headed towards mediocre seasons. Not that it helped enough, I still missed the playoffs. Just had too many headaches going on with the rest of my roster. I guess there's always next year.
