Well to be honest after the first 6 rounds of the draft I was feeling pretty good about myself having picked Paul George, Lillard, Drummond, Favors, D-Rose and Bradley Beal. Adding D Will in the next round was a risk/reward move, but from then on things didn't go exactly to plan.
After the first cpl rounds I identified some guys were going to go young, really young, so I tried to target guys in their mid-20's who would contribute now and for many years to come.
That strategy worked for the first 6 rounds but then the younger players started to dry up. So, I went for strong contributors who were in the high 20's or low 30's.
Which led to D-Will, Dwight Howard, Wilson Chandler, Joakim Noah and Arron Afllalo. I was pretty happy with having those players but I still lacked long term prospects, so in round 11 I planned to take Exum........and that didn't work out.
From there with my daughter waking up from a sleep, and little time to do proper searches for prospects I kept taking best available with guys like Amir Johnson, Patrick Patterson (who i think could be a sneaky contributor if he starts), Lance Stephenson (who i hope can get back to something like his Indiana days) and even Meeks (who I hope will have a bounce back year)
I planned on trying to grab Exum or Embid late to hold them for the future, and each time they got picked before me in the round I was set to take them.
Upon review, my roster has some flaws but also some obvious strengths. Managers that know me know I like to have a well rounded roster that contributes across the board creating opportunity for 7-2 wins etc. At present I can't see my roster achieving those results so I'll be active looking to round out my roster a bit, most likely seeking another pg.
Overall, I think my team could compete this year but i have some work to do to better set it up for the future.
