Figured i'd get some discussion going in here since this league has been quiet. With the Dynasty Format we have a lot of different strategies.
Wondering how everyone feels there strategy has gone and whether they would do things different? Surprises, good or bad?
I'll start. For me I am regretting my strategy a bit. When i drafted i wanted a team entirely in it's 20s and that is what i accomplished. Problem is I teetered between potential and mediocre talent in that group instead of committing to more potential like i wanted. Since then i now have a full roster that is 26 and younger and sit a deserving 13th in the standings. It's going to be a test of my patience but i finally got my roster positioned how i want in the future.
My biggest surprise is the parity we have in our league. I consider Abe's team to be the favorite for now and the next couple years (easy to say since he's sitting 1st). With that being said there are about 7 or 8 other teams i could see winning it this year. Not many leagues, whether standard, keeper or dynasty format, can say that many teams could win it all at this stage of the season.

I liked my strategy and made some solid FA pickups, but I have been a bit unlucky with Markieff Morris and David Lee essentially sitting on my roster doing nothing. I was expecting good solid numbers from both of them. I am crossing my fingers they get traded before the deadline so they can live up to their potential. But having basically 2 inactive players that I can't put on IR has been killing my stats and giving me losses in some categories. When I actually do get injuries it's like I am out 3 or 4+ players for that week. B. Griffin is a bonehead and is not helping my cause either. But, I am still in the top 3 in the league after all that. That being said if the trades go through with Lee and Morris and if Griffin is ready for the playoffs, I feel I could get lucky make some noise and possibly just maybe win the league. I also feel I have a core of young solid players that will be keeping me in the mix for the foreseeable future.

We'll see if he gets to OJ's level but rookie stats are similar with OJ scoring more and shooting better from the line. Granted OJ was a year or so older as a rookie. I think they are very fair comparable at this point in their careers. I get the impression you are making plans to attend his HOF induction ceremony so i'll leave this be.

No not hall of fame just think he is a way better passer and a better shooter than Mayo, kid has amazing court vision. Dont think I've ever heard him compared to Mayo before just struck me as odd.

The fact Russell is 6'5" helps also. Guy can legitmately play at the 2 spot without being a little undersized. I also agree that he has better court vision and passing instincts then mayo. Higher ceiling to because i can see him being a 20pt 4reb 6or7 ast type with 2 3ptm and 1 stl. Yes that would make him a fringe all-star player

As a huge Lakers fan I think Russell has been balling big time lately. I think he has that killer instinct and the fire from within to be an elite player. Whether or not he can achieve that remains to be seen. But I am liking what I am seeing lately. Comparing any top draft pick to Mayo is a bit pessimistic. That same thing could have been said about Lebron or Durant. Look at Kobe Bryant's rookie season and 2nd year in the league, not that great. But he had the drive from within to be one of the all time greatest. I see a little bit of that in Russell. Starting slow and building and building at his young age of just turned 20. He's got the attitude. I think you have yourself a stud in Russell. Nice pick up!

vine.co/v/iXxDrF2ZbVv[/vine]D'Angelo has that little bit of weird crazy in him too, lol. Honestly I see more Curry in him than Mayo, of course he's got a lot of work to do to get to Curry's level but I think the potential is there, no idea if he'll put in the work or not though. vine.co/v/igdaEe0jeMd[/vine]

Curry? Thanks for the laugh Reavers. As non-believable as you see my Mayo comparison, you have to understand how far fetched that comparison is....
