Wondering how everyone feels about having 17 roster spots? The thought is it improves the ability to keep players in our Dynasty Format. Wondering if it's hurting the ability to add FA's however. What are everyone's thoughts, do we like it at 17 or would you prefer a change to 16?

Had a feeling you might feel that way. Unless it got more support i'm not sure how comfortable i would be raising the roster totals. Would like to keep it somewhat close to real life and allow for some player movement over FA.

Did someone hack Larry's account and make a trade?

Did someone hack Larry's account and make a trade? He's throwing his name in the hat of teams trying to win this year with that deal. We'll see how Portis and Winslow develop i suppose. Right now they require patience.

I like 17 better than 16. More flexibility.
Yeah, Larry's trade seems to be a bit lopsided for the immediate future. Looks like it's a win now approach for one and playing for a POSSIBLE good future for the other (players being traded haven't proved they belong yet and may be bench warmers or out of the league vs. top producing players all in the top 100 now with Duncan retiring soon) It would be easier to judge with a crystal ball.

Portis has been a stud every time he's gotten minutes

I wouldn't say a stud. If he was a stud they would be playing him a lot more. His per minute numbers are just okay but nothing great. He does have potential though to be of good fantasy value. He needs some more coaching and work on his game to reach stud level. His drive and passion seems to be there. I think in time he will be a solid NBA player IMO. This offseason should be huge for him to show his potential. if not he will probably fizzle out like many promising rookies.

It was gutwrenching to make that trade, but in the last 8 weeks I have won 6+ categories 7 times and the 8th week I won 5. I went from 14th to 11th and I'm only 4 games out of the playoffs as of today. Abe is dinged up so I saw some opportunity and decided to make a move. It's not like I've given up my future entirely - before the trade my oldest player was 27 and only three players were 25+. If you always build for the future you will never win in the present.

I had to do something as my team clearly sucks, is injury riddled (which may or may not have been strategic), and is a bit old. I'm willing to gamble on Portis, I like the kids game and he's a Bull on a team that will soon lose most of their front court...

Not to mention John Henson, a player I have had my eye on for a while now and am glad to own in a dynasty format.

Did someone hack Larry's account and make a trade? Time is proving you right, Reavers. I took a huge swing and missed. Getting spanked 8-1 by Clutch pretty much seals my fate as a non-playoff team. Now I need to get back into tank mode. Who wants Melo?

Sorry to deal you that loss Larry. I had a very solid week and it was much needed to gain one of the coveted bye spots for the playoffs. I give you credit for going for it though! You will never win anything without taking a risk sometimes.
