Good game last week reaver. I stumbled badly out of the gate and could never really catch up to you. I thought I had it close at the end of Saturday night but you pulled away from me pretty easily in the end.

Now to the task of figuring out how to upset lead number one this week. As Bernie Sanders might say, I believe I definitely have a very slim pathway to victory to follow.

Looking forward to my 2 vs 3 matchup this week with Clutch. He's defending champ for a reason and proving to be elite in this league. As one of the up and comers in the league this season it's a good test. I'm off to a good start but don't think i have enough to keep up all week, should be fun though!

Will you ever learn, reaver? Never underestimate the power of the shwartz!
of course it would help if I would not make lineup errors like I made last night. I thought booker might sit with an ankle injury for some rest, but he played… hit 12 field goals… and I didn't have the stomach to look at the rest of the stat line. I am perpetually annoyed by my own cleverness.

As one of the up and comers in the league this season it's a good test. I'm off to a good start but don't think i have enough to keep up all week, should be fun though! Thanks Cam! By looking at your team in the Team Stats - Totals you seem to be right there and have a shot to beat any team on any week. Beating people takes some skill and luck. Skill in setting up the most powerful team you can assemble. Where the luck factor comes in is 1. Do you have more players playing that week than your opponent 2. Which team has a overall harder schedule for the week. 3. The injury factor (who's out completely or playing at 75% with an ankle sprain or whatnot) 4. Home and away games 5. Revenge games or rivalries of NBA players will usually help stats. 6. Are your players playing above or below average stats for that week. 7. Star players going through personal life matters. 8. Who forgets to set their roster for the day causing a major gain for the opponent. 9. Are they playing on a nationally televised game. So many things can cause a win or loss in fantasy for the week and mess with the seedings. For me I look at the team stat totals more than the seedings to see who the top performers are. All that being said, I think a handful of teams can win it this year in our league if luck is with them at the right time. That's what I love about fantasy. It is so unpredictable and gives a rush of ups and downs throughout the year.

I brought it yesterday. Unfortunately today through Sunday will happen and I'm sure this will end 7-2 in your favor. It will be fun trying to pull an upset, though.

I'm also a heavy user of the yearly stats info to gauge where teams are. Especially now that we have a month worth of data. I tried thinking of other variables that come into play and i think you really covered most things Clutch. The only thing i would add is streaks. Sometimes you just catch a guy on a hot streak or cold streak. If you have a guy like CJ Miles, he can carry your shooting for a few games. Another is matchups, facing a team that has the same strengths as your own can counter any advantages you may normally have. Let's say your a good FT% team, that can be a guaranteed win most weeks so facing another good FT% team can neutralize normal advantages

Having a games played disadvantage in a given week hits some teams a lot harder than others. To mitigate that inevitable problem I try to concentrate my team make up around competent percentages, particularly free-throw percentage, and being strong in the specialty stats of steals, threes, and blocks because on a light schedule week those can be more easily made up then points, rebounds, and assists. I also try to focus on players that average low TO and on a light week that works right into my favor to pick up that cheap point that could be the difference in a 5-4 finish. I haven't quite follow those core principles as closely as I should have in this league and I think my team is paying for it in the record.

A couple of other factors that come into play are blow out games wheres players sit out whole quarters. On the flip side overtime games can pad the stats just enough to carry you over the top in a certain category.
Looks like we are all tied up Cam. I was worried if I would be able to catch up especially being on a short week. Looks like it will come down to a coin flip who wins this week. I need some of my guys putting up horrible numbers to come through and for my injured players to get back to normal. It will be a barn burner! Looking forward to it!
