Yep he has indeed.
Despite how things have gone down, I think this emphasises the fact that EVERYONE needs to be careful to draw the line on some of the debates. Some of the comments that went back and forward where getting rediculous. If people really are frustrated with others, talk about it through the PM's. We don't really have a code of conduct on this board, but we have one generally upheld rule, NEVER GET PERSONAL.
I'm not pointing fingers or naming names because I believe that people just got caught up in the heat of the moment, but lets keep this as a reminder of what can happen when the boundaries are pushed too far.

He had threatened to leave twice before. While I like the league he set up with message boards, I dont like the fact he felt rules didnt apply to him.

As good as Roost was to the league in terms of sheer effort and energy spent and activity on the boards... without the common denominator in arguments, I don't really see any 'personal' issues arising between anyone. He was the only one who I ever felt went personal with anything. I dont mind pointing the finger - it is not to say I dont respect his work,
But hey onwards and upwards for us. We still have a good core of committed teams (who knows Roost may decide he wants to come back), and I am not short of associates who are serious and want to play*.
* Apologies for Mitch this year.
Force I thought was a good commissioner, in the sense the rules were prospective rather than being made up or altered on a whim. He is also very easy to get along with and has probably the best record in the league! Thoughts Force???
What about Budge?

He took this game very seriously which is probably what I liked most about him. Believe me, taking a year or two off from the fantasy basketball every now and then can be very refreshing.
Keeping to business as I always aim to do, p.m. I think we all understand that taking on the standard league commissioner ship would be a heavy load for you. If the standard league is going to have its traditional September draft then that means we have about six weeks to fill for empty manager spots including the commissioner. I am thinking that cam2win would be a good obvious nominee for the standard league but I'm guessing that things like that cannot be decided until eight Commissioner is in place.

He isn't in the standard league. I used him as an example of someone who might get nominated to play in the sL since we seem to have so many vacancies. I am just thinking out loud here really. I figure eventually someone besides me will show some interest in the subject.

We need 4 GMs for the standard league atm. Cam+Larry+Ardamus are all obvious candidates if they are interested. The fourth should probably be Australian or NZ. So anybody know what's going on with Force? Would he have any interest in running the SL?

I just saw PPs Post up there. Totally agree. I am also encouraged that he seems to have some leads on possible prospects Also agree that force and BB are the most obvious candidates for Commissioner.

It's too early for me to be arsed to think about fantasy basketball. I may or may not have 1-2 people that could be suitable replacements but will look into it more when the time comes. Regardless, I'm sure they'll be some GMs out there that want a challenge in a very competitive league...
As for the SL commissioner job, I won't be applying until "I settle down" someday. It's not that I can't do a good job - after all I'm on a computer on average of 10 hours a day (if not more - most of the time doing fuk all). I just don't have the motivation at this stage in life, plus my plans to "take it easy in the next few years" travelling means I don't want the burdon and responsibility.

Roost has his eyes on the forum for sure...I dont believe for a second he's not around
Nobody so far has put their hand up to run the league.
I dont think theres too much to it, 95% of it is already in place. Just need to fill in the last spots, create the league, reinforce the rules and play. Having said that, I currently work 3 jobs so if you guys are looking for a commish who's online ALOT then I'm not the one you want.

We are quickly running out of Aussie candidates for the job. If Budge does not step up and then we could be looking at (gasp!) an American as commish. (not me, I mean some other American). As was previously noted I think this league is 95% nuts and bolts ready to go, but the sooner we get a commissioner in place the better, filling three or four empty managers doesn't happen overnight.
Whether or not roost is watching in the wings I think his statements were clear that he does not intend to contribute any input to the resolution of our commissioner situation. I take that to mean that this is in our hands now. If he comes back now after all that then he is just the biggest diva in fantasy basketball history.
