Oh, and I officially second dire wolves Motion to add 2 roster spots to each team. Lol jk, I know he was just kidding. (... But just in case he wasn't… I officially second that motion!) wasnt kidding

Considering i'd prefer to trim the rosters (I know that won't happen), i don't foresee a day our rosters increase in this league. I think 17 with an IL seems to be the sweet spot for the league.

I dont think anyone will be mad if you only want to carry like 12 guys on your roster Cam, there is no rules on minimum roster size. I'm just saying that a lot of GMs wanted to carry 18 players thru on their rosters and to me cutting a Stanley Johnson to pick up a Lance Thomas is a tragedy that could have been prevented.

Btw are people on the Tyler Johnson bandwagon now because he got crazy overpaid? I dont see the fascination really, nice player and I'm not knocking anyone for their 17th player on the roster just not sure what the love fest was about.

And I'd argue that teams having to make roster decisions (like Johnson versus Thomas) are healthy for the league. The larger the rosters, the more stale the league can become in my opinion. I think 17 plus an IL allows teams to take chances on guys but also creates a strategy of win now versus plan ahead that keeps teams engaged more. Even now we only had what, 5 or 6 guys picked up since waivers were opened up. I say roster size is working for league balance.

Makes you really think about who to cut and who to add. Takes talent and knowledge for that and makes the game actually have some skill to it. Conversely I think if the league would go lower than 17 it would open up too many available quality guys for the people in the last place spots to grab and get lucky and become fantasy relevant again. Less talented managers would like this hoping to keep picking up guys until they find a hot guy and than keep him.

Mr. clutches, I can't help it if you can't find a hot guy to keep.
But truly, I agree 17 is a good number and to go less than that would not be a good thing. IF roster sizes were to increase some day for some reason, I think it would be more prudent to only increase by a single additional spot so as not to create too much shock. For me I could see how an increase in roster size would give me more room to experiment, but I can also see how it could possibly get stagnant for lesser managers who Think they have nothing to choose from on the free-agent list in that environment. So I could definitely see an argument for increasing roster sizes, but at the moment it does seem to work in that sweet spot, as you put it, so I like it.
About Tyler Johnson… I wouldn't exactly call it a love fest… It's just that I look for a certain type of player who could be in a certain type of position at exactly the right time in his career to be statistically useful to me. I don't necessarily disagree with you that he might be overrated and might be overpaid, The point is that he is going to undoubtedly be given the chance to prove that one way or the other which at least is something you can't say for 98% of the other guys on the free-agent list. If I wait to pick up a guy like that until he has a breakout game then I'm already too late.

Eh he's a good defender/effort guy and I suppose between the payday and the injury to Josh he'll get minutes early but honestly he's the fourth option imo at guard. I'd start Winslow at the 2. I can't believe their lack of depth at SF though.

I see Johnson as being an ok player. I could actually see curry being a good player. They are bot still young so have time to grow. I am looking at getting rid of some of my older players so let me know if anyone is interested in them. I think I am going to rebuild this team.

Winslow would be on the bench on pretty much every other team in the NBA getting at most 12 minutes a game. He is very lucky to be with Miami with their lack of SF's. He didn't look too good in the summer league either. He is just a very athletic player with zero shooting touch and low game IQ. He get his points off hustle and garbage and has okay D.
