To improve the dynasty feel of the league, above is a summary of the performance of every single manager who has ever competed in this league from season 1 in 2005/06 to season 8 just past.
How have you fared?

Looking at the fact that I've got the 2nd best winning % in the league for all time, makes last season all the more disappointing. Some great stats work done though.
Nice work Force.

Awesome work Force. I hope everyone is back again this year, last year was the most competitive yet.

A lot of work there. Well done. It was indeed a pretty competitive league, and I look forward to the next season.
However - and this may not be at all a popular thing to voice - honestly?... I think the way the league's draft is geared, it makes it a little easier for those near the top, to stay near the top. It's not the most important quality - careful drafting top-to-bottom and astute week-to-week management are always the primary reasons for success... but it certainly helps to be able to pick a guy like LeBron or KD first up...

but it certainly helps to be able to pick a guy like LeBron or KD first up... That's true, but the only season I won the league was when I picked 8th, and others have won from similar positions. Depth is the most important thing, but yes, picking earlier and being able to grab a real stud certainly helps.

I am pleasantly surprised my winning percentage is as high as 46%. My 60%+ mark This season really boosted my overall percentage.
All of my previous seasons were demoralizing injury plagued disasters. I think I am pretty good at this game, I know how to manage a team through injuries, But when you have 5, 6, 7 Injuries on your roster season after season after season, It is just way too much to overcome, Particularly against the caliber of competition in this league. Annoyingly, a couple of those old teams of mine Got healthy at just the right time to dominate the consolation bracket. Those were fun years though... Quickly burning through all my moves And trying to make clever deals Just to keep my team afloat. I came close to cracking the playoffs a couple times but the severe injury problems Where just too big to overcome in the end. I think the two years I took off and away from the game Helped to clear my mind and adjust my approach.
I like the "King of the Hill" Draft order we use in here. It is different from the majority of other fantasy leagues, Which is cool all by it's self. In the interests of full disclosure, Last season I was one of those people who was lightly suggesting that perhaps the draft order should change around to a worst-to-first format. This year I am picking third overall and, well, It is amazing how a new perspective can Change a man's Outlook on the future.
Speaking of my third pick this season... All things being equal I would normally take Harden I think right there, But I already have him in the keeper league, And I would like to stay a little bit diversified at the top of my fantasy leagues Because I already seem to get a lot of overlap Across other leagues from my mid to late draft rounds. Maybe I bring back Irving For a second season in a row? I am still back and forth on the whole thing, At least I still have time to think about it.
Force, thanks. Now that you have done all this work on this thread, I think it is worth keeping around and simply (Hopefully simply) Add on to it every off season.

Now that I have thought about it for a few minutes I think I should clarify my position from last summer. As I am thinking back now, I think my exact suggestion was to do a total random redraft because of it being the first year of a money league Then to go back to the "King of the Hill" Draft order every season after that.
So I was not really in favor of making it a worst to first order. I don't know why I would want to put words in my own mouth, But I felt the need to call myself out on the inaccuracy.

for a long term manager, showtime was pretty ordinary lol
Re draft, i think i previously won from 6th, then won the following the year from 1st, top 2-5 always have advantage (this years its top 2 but some years there isn't as big a drop off from the top 2 down) but a high second round pick can also sometime be valuable.
i think atm, top 2 is gold but there have been years where i think late first and early 2nd gives you better value, every season is different in terms of how the talent is separated
always have and always will support the draft order following on from the previous year, there is a good history in this league and thats part of it imo

PS top work force
there are several of us that love this league but over the years you've put more time into then anyone and you've also to this point have been easily the best, most consistent team. the stats support that

Bit of a yuck winning percentage on my behalf - worst of long term managers. Though I assume that took into account the year I was locked out.
Looking forward to another strong year coming up! Have no idea who I will/can draft at #4.
Ranges from Westbrook, Harden, Love, Curry, Paul. Some hard decisions in there with the amount of injury worries!

Fair comment, in fact this gets brought up most offseasons, however each time there is a majority if not near unanimous vote for us to keep our format. The draft is ordered the way it is to prevent non-top 6 teams simply going MIA during their 6-12th playoff matches. Somebody who finished 12th at the end of the regular season can still grab 6th pick in the next draft, and whilst looking through the records while doing the stats, I did see that a number of times this has happened. Also, there doesn't seem to be a strong correlation between draft pick and placing at end of year, at least in our league (on face value only - haven't looked at the data)

I think the depth of top tier fantasy prospects has increased dramatically. The conversation used to be around CP3 or Lebron. Then it became CP3, Lebron and Durant, now it's Durant and Lebron with about 10 - 12 players on the next tier like CP3, Curry, Westbrook, Harden, Love, Dwight (depending on strategy), Deron Williams, John Wall (based on the second half of last year), Kyrie Irving, Paul George, Derrick Rose....... there are a lot that are close together. So, picking late in the first round could actually mean you pick two players that are basically of equal value with your first 2 picks. That can counter the value of having an early pick in the first round. That's what I'm hoping for anyway ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Honestly I do't have a problem if we go to a random draft order every year especially now that it's a money league. I do prefer to know the draft order like a week before so I can plan my strategy a little rather than finding out right before the draft the way yahoo does it.
