i agree re pau and honestly, jamieson can play that stretch 4 role for us
honestly, once nash come back, wouldn't surprise me to see pau move to the bench and most of his time will be spent playing back up to dwight

For fantasy purposes I hope so ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I think you guys will improve with Nash running the point. That's if Kobe fucks off and lets him play with the ball 90% of the time (which he needs to do).

I personally don't think Dwight is a fit with the lakers. He's a defensive player unlike Shaq who was a low post, back to the basket scoring C. Putting Pau next to Dwight is ugly, you need a 3 point shooter and let Dwight clog the lane. It's why Rashard Lewis/Ryan Anderson worked really well with Dwight in Orlando. Hell you guys have been rumoured to go after Bargnuffi in exchange for Gasol, I'd do it. Nuffi sucks hard, can't rebound, struggles putting the ball on the floor and driving, he's one of the worst basketball IQ guys in the game and has no athletic ability but he can shoot a 3. Space it out, keep him on the perimeter, Dwight down low to bang, Nash moving the ball around, it's a better look. Pau Gasol in my mind isn't a fit for this team if Dwight is on the roster. One needs to go. I'd start Jamison, and bring Nash+Pau off the bench, but yeah trade Pau+Nash to the Raps for Barq+Lowry+Calderone. The Craptors are desperate enough to do it. I don't know if Pau would be all that happy though. I'd laugh if Dwight signed somewhere else next year too.

So New Orleans is changing it's name from the Hornets to..........the PELICANS! (http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8711940/new-orleans-hornets-change-nickname-pelicans-according-report)
Way to strike fear in the heart of your opponent. Has to be one of the stupidest team names in any sport I've ever heard.

I think the team names should stay with their original cities and team should change when they move like the Sonics/Thunder. It should be the New Orleans Jazz Charlotte Hornets Minnesota Lakers Milwaukee Hawks Washington Bullets
The Grizzlies should've changed their name after moving from Vancouver.
Utah=Tabernacles LA=$$$ Atlanta=Peaches

Lakers start first few games crap Excuse: Mike Brown made scapegoat and fired
D'Antoni steps in and Gasol not looking like his usual self and playing on patella tendinopathy in both knees - Lakers continue to suck Excuse: Steve Nash out due to stress fracture in leg
Steve Nash returns, but Howard exits with a labral tear in his shoulder and Gasol gets concussed. Lakers big chance to miss playoffs Excuse: Big 4 not enough time spent together? Chemistry issues?
Has Nash ever played with somebody as ball-dominant as Kobe? Surely Nash and D'Antoni would be on the same page.
I think that Nash or Kobe, one of them has to go...but of course if theres any moves at all, Gasol will be made the scapegoat...and if that happens I'm betting the Lakers chase a stretch-4 ie Bargnani type of player

Can we call this as a lost season for the Lakers yet?
They are now completely out of excuses. The Diantoni Higher is looking to be a historic failure. I still do not understand why they Restricted themselves to hiring either Phil Jackson or Mike DiAntoni. There are a lot of available coaches out there that would have made a lot more sense given this roster. As it is now the players hate each other and the coaches more than ever. While the truly elite teams in the West are working on their craft and chemistry, The Lakers continue to struggle with basic fundamentals. Are we now supposed to believe that they are just around the corner from success? That they will flip the switch any day now? Should we be scared that the Lakers might sneak into the playoffs with a seventh or eighth seed? Please. Bring them on. They will be the easiest out in the league.
And the best part is that there really is no future for this team. Mitch cupcake and busts Junior have boxed themselves in. Gasol Is overpaid for what they want him to do and apparently on his way out via trade. I cannot say I have high hopes for them getting fair value in return. If it were me I think I would try to get Kevin love in trade. That would seem to satisfy the needs of both franchises.
And what are the chances now that they are going to get Dwight Howard at the off-season? Sure they can afford to pay him more than anybody else, But does he really want to be Kobe Bryants whipping boy for the next who knows how many years? Dwight Howard does not really do that well with things like accountability or Expectations.
And the great Steve Nash? He is freaking 40 people! And to me he looks like he is a worse defender than at any point in his career. Having Dwight and Gasol Was supposed to cover up that deficiency, But their Defensive effort this season has ranged from confused too disinterested.
The most telling thing of all is that Kobe Bryant has apparently checked out of any thoughts of making the playoffs, It would seem he has refocused his efforts to try to catch Kareem Abdul Jabbar For the all-time NBA scoring lead. Coby might just have one more 80 point game left in him to show us this year.
If the brightest spot on your roster is Earl Clark...

Not sure why Toronto are doing this in truth. I mean don't get me wrong, I like Rudy, but they have a very solid swingman rotation DeRozan, the young talented Ross and the improved Alan Anderson. Makes no sense when they clearly need some big man talent to score down low. Jonas V is really raw, Davis was a solid low post player and they moved him for a swing, and Bargs is a joke at best. Bryan Colangelo is really off in fairy land.

The Diantoni Higher is looking to be a historic failure. Higher than what? I still do not understand why they Restricted themselves to hiring either Phil Jackson or Mike DiAntoni. There are a lot of available coaches out there that would have made a lot more sense given this roster. For example... ? And the best part is that there really is no future for this team. Ok, saying something like that just comes across as petulant and/or makes you look like your time as an NBA fan is measured in months, not years. C'mon man, you know better than that. You HATE it... but you know that LA won't just lay down and die - even if this really does end up being one huge, glorious failure. The money the Buss family make is entirely from the Lakers. The TV deal with TWC alone brings in more alone than they spend on salary, And then you have to figure in ticket sales (highest revenue in the Association), merchandising... and all of this is dependent upon them trotting out a successful team. Or at least... trying to. This is stuff you know. You might not want to admit to it, but the Lakers aren't going anywhere because of a single miserable season, and a possible bleak outlook. I gotta say I love the 20/20 hindsight too. Really? "Cupcake"? FFS... The deal for Nash was for bits 'n pieces. Who doesn't make that deal? Dwight? Andrew Bynum, straight swap (who, by the way - in case you missed it, hasn't even stepped on the hardwood this season). Who doesn't do pull the trigger on that? Has it worked out? Hell no. Not... at the moment at least. Are the Lakers going to win a championship this season? If they did, I'd be as surprised/shocked/astounded as anyone else here. But I'm not going to slag the FO for swinging for the fences. Anyone, admit it: you wish your front office did more deals like that. Hate on the Lakers, but hate for the real reasons - be honest about it. Sheesh, there are plenty there without having to make crap up. ... ... ... Not to bust your chops or anything... but that semi-ridiculous post needed some semblance of a retort.
