Do you like to waste time? Who doesn't?!
Here are three free leagues you can join.
ID 115782 Pw moneyball Draft mon aug 27 at 1045pm. Difficulty: moderate
Id 118878 Pw football Draft sat sept. 1 at 1045pm all times are central. Difficulty: moderate
Id 119326 Pw football Draft wed aug 29 at 1045pm. Difficulty Advanced. If you do not know what an IDP is, then this particular league is probably not for you.
Last year I created these leagues because I was so bored with the common Yahoo set up. To make a long story short, some of the guys from last season liked it enough that they asked me to bring them back. This is not a serious sweetie, I really am just looking for some heartbeats to fill the spots. The thing is that they are actually pretty fun and challenging setups so I am kind of proud of myself for that at least. Join one or all three, I don't even care if you show up for the draft. I don't even care if you are just using it to test your free rank list against other players. I don't care if you are there just to try to pick up one of yahoos cheesy trophies. These leagues are just for mindless fun.

You can't look at anything on the Internet anymore without having to sit through a commercial.
The purpose of this thread is to talk fantasy and real NFL. Just because I gave up the NFL fantasy game for money full-time, doesn't mean I don't still love the game.
Anybody have any predictions for this season?
For starters I think San Francisco will win it all.

I've been looking for a decent IDP for a while but not at 1045pm
Frisco? Really? I guess we'll find out what they are made out of weak 1

San Francisco was right there last year. Pretty much all of their main guys are coming back this season, i think they are ready to make the next step. I think their defense is going to be pretty impressive.
My cowboys might have a shot in the hell this year (and I say "my" with great sarcasm because they have not been "my" cowboys since Jimmy Johnson left. ) Their receivers are a year older and better supposedly , even that knucklehead Bryant. And I really like their number one running back dimarco murray, I am interested to see what he can do with a full non-injury season. This has to be tony Romos last chance to make Jerry Jones look like the fool that he is. I know Jerry is rich, but I don't know how he can afford to keep handing Tony the keys just so he can wrap the Benz around a telephone pole every season.

I never knew some of you know your NFL and especially IDP leagues (unfortunately I'm in 5 committed leagues already) but my main draft is next Saturday and though I don't usually consult anybody with advice about NFL, I'd like your thoughts on my rankings for this seasons IDP - based on YAHOO default scoring settings:-
1. Patrick Willis - A safe bet for 100 tackle season with 150+ upside but hoping Bowman and the talented SF defence doesn't eat too much into his work. But always enjoy linebackers who does everything, plus if preseason were to show, he's showed no signs of slowing down...
2. D'Qwell Jackson - Always nice to own players with 10+ tackles per game potential. Consistent throughout his career despite an injury plagued season in 09. Browns defence should be on the field often. Would be unanimous no.1 if he did other things than just tackle.
3. James Laurinaitis - I think he could only improve. Plus Rams D will be on the field a lot.
4. London Fletcher - Usually anchors my D in all previous seasons because he gets no love every year but I get the feeling he will be drafted a lot higher this season. Question is when does he slow down?
5. Ray Lewis - The icon of defence. He may be a year older but he'll take some of Suggs stats which is nice. I would like to rank him higher and he probably should be higher...
6. Jason Pierre-Paul - Not a fan of DEs but this guy is a beast. Hoping for a few more FFs this season!
7. This one is hard but Derrick Johnson - Had a shocking 2009 season but last 2 season he has proven his worth. Personally not the player I'd draft, but it would be safe to rank him here.
8. Jared Allen - If only he tackled more...
9. Charles Woodson - First DB off the board. Provides you with a bit of everything which adds up in the end, playing safety this season is dam nice...
10. Curtis Lofton - If only Hawthorne and Vilma weren't there so there is the unpredictable factor. However I think Vilma may not play season so he makes the top 10, otherwise he'd be ranked lower.
11. Stephen Tulloch - I think last season was merely settling into a new team. Hoping for more and I'm sure he'll provide!
12. Navorro Bowman - Only putting him here because he seems to compliment Willis well. There is upside, a repeat performance who knows...but I won't risk his upside for some other player already proven.
13. Paul Posluszny - Like Tulloch - new team so had a downer but hoping for better days. Plus I expect their D to be on the field a lot.
14. Brian Cushing - I'd like to rank him a lot higher, especially for a player that loves getting to the QB. I really want him to be my second IDP player. Again, someone tell me he should be a top 10 pick this season...
15. Chad Greenway - Expect another 100+ tackle season but can't as for much more than just tackles.
16. Conor McCarthy - He does have top 10 upside. He was heading for 130+ tackles last season had he started, so to get him around here would be nice. However, given how he played in the preseason, he should be an everday name and not a "breakout" player.
17. James Harrison - I don't know why I rank him this low but is is one of the very few players that could give you 100 tackles / 10 sack potential...It's the ultimate risk vs reward pick if drafting him earlier.
18. Demarcus Ware - As per above but only difference is that lack of tackles he makes up with big sacking potential (would have been elite 3 seasons ago but I can't see him replicating another 80 tackle season).
19. Jerod Mayo - Easily top 5 pick if Pats use him properly and put him in his usual MLB spot instead of OLB...but I suppose he could be worth the investment here.
20. Kam Chancellor - Linebackers are your foundation but this guy is a beast. Arguably the no.1 DB this season.
NOTABLES not included in the list are Beason (top IDP prior to his injury but he's playing with a studded LB core), Ryans (could be in for a big year in a new team), Weatherspoon (gonna take over Lofton's tackle count).
I'm pretty safe with DBs. Berry/Chancellor/Branch will be my early picks and then nobody ever takes Chung (injuries deflate his score) but if you don't get like the top 7 safeties, then crop is very thin!

I just hope my Eagles do better. They addressed a few weaknesses on defence (MLB to be a big one) and now that Jackson has his new contract he can start putting 100% into every game instead of half assing it as he admitted to doing in an interview this year. Although Vick already being injured has me a little worried.

carn the niners, like you're thinking UA
for us, there is no way we go as strongly in the regular season, harder schedule this year and won ALOT of close games that could have gone either way, we just need to get into the playoffs and let our D do their thing
tip kendell hunter to run for more yards then frank gore

I don't know about the niners. I realize their defense is pretty good, but they also play in the worst division in all of football. They played well in the playoffs and all but that offense is offensive. Defense wins championships etc but I just can't get behind them. I guess too many years of hating Dallas and SF growing up.

for the record, the D is better then pretty good too Honestly I think the only game of theirs that I watched was the Saints playoff game so hard to gage from that. Looking at their schedule last year though the only impressive win defensively was against the Steelers week 15. wk1 vs Seattle (7-9) W 33-17 2 vs Dallas (8-8) L 27-24 OT 3 @cincinnati (9-7) W 13-8 4 @ Philadelphia (8-8) W 24-23 5 vs Tampa Bay (4-12) W 48-3 6 @ Detroit (10-6) W 25-19 7 BYE WEEK 8 vs Cleveland (4-12) W 20-10 9 @ Washington (5-11) W 19-11 10 vs New York (9-7) W 27-20 11 vs Arizona (8-8) W 23-7 12 @ Baltimore (12-4) L 16-6 13 vs St. Louis (2-14) W 26-0 14 @ Arizona (8-8) L 21-19 15 vs Pittsburgh (12-4) W 20-3 16 @ Seattle (7-9) W 19-17 17 @ St. Louis (2-14) W 34-27 DIV vs New Orleans (13-3) W 36-32 CONF vs New York L 20-17 OT

i saw the majority of the games and our D carried an offensively challenged team who put up 3 and out after 3 and out
the front 7 is ridiculous, they sometimes are let down by the secondry who is a solid unit but there can be holes found in coverage (like any team really )
but running against us can be impossible at times and the smiths and co get after the quater back with the best of them
our 2nd ILB was a first team all pro last year, that just shoes how hard we can be to run on

Anyone see the game last night? Being an Eagles fan, I dislike both the Cowboys and Giants but dislike the Giants more so I was happy with the end result. Looks like the Giants might still have rushing issues and their defense wore down as the game went on leading to the Cowboys tearing them up on the ground in the second half. Think the replacement officials did an ok job but there seemed to be a lot of penalties last night.
