Munchy the Bucks aren't making the playoffs. They've all but come out and said that they are tanking for one more year. Of course the league has gone too far with the new lottery rules so more teams like the Cavs will be winning the lotto but anyways. The Bucks are going to play the young guys and let the wins fall where they may. The only reason that they have won in the preseason is that we still have veteran players and young stars on the floor in the 4th quarter while most teams are playing their D leaguers. I never said they were. Although just about everyone else here's predictions seem to have them in the playoffs.

My pf List would go Davis Aldrich. Horford Griffin Love.
I would probably move love up to third on this list if he can manage to lead the league in rebounds in Cleveland, which he probably shouldn't do with guys like lbj, marion, and Thompson around. But if he does I would be impressed.

For me, there is too much focuse on the offensive side of a players game when determining who is the "best". So with that in mind I think my PF list would go something like: Davis - best two way player of the bunch and has still got room for further development. Aldridge (not Aldirch UA ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) - Has a very refined offensive game, and can lead his team when needed, but also a solid defender. Love - in this case, yes he is a poor defender, but on offense it's not just his shooting that makes him dominant, it's his outlet passing that genuinely creates a couple easy baskets a game for his team. Griffin - defensively isn't great but his offensive game is seriously improving. He's added range to his jumper (hitting 3's now), has improved on a real weakness at the free thow line, and is probably the hardest guy to stop one on one. Horford - probably the 2nd best balanced pf from an offense/defense perspective but I don't think he can be a go to scorer like some of the others, so he drops.

West. San Antonio. Clippers Portland Memphis. Dallas. Okc Phoenix. Utah.
I projected several upsets to go into the playoffs from the west this season as you can see. I think several factors are going to contribute into a shuffling of the traditional order in the west. I think Memphis is going to be very good, May be second best record in the west. Okc losing ground to Portland.
I could be very wrong about Golden State missing the playoffs but firing a successful coach and replacing him with a rookie coach seems like a bad idea. Speaking of firing, New Orleans missing the playoffs should be the end of Monty Williams.
East.
Chicago. Cleveland. Toronto Washington. Charlotte Atlanta Brooklyn Miami.
I can see Detroit, New York nicks, and Boston fighting for that last playoff spot and falling short.

Now that I think about it Chicago and Cleveland are in the same division and cannot finish one and two, if I understand the rules. So my new Eastern conference playoffs order is
Chicago Washington Toronto. Cleveland Charlotte Boston Atlanta New York Knicks
I also changed my mind on Brooklyn and Miami making the playoffs. Orlando is my Darkhorse bubble team.

I believe they can be the top two. I believe the 3 division winners are only guaranteed the top four spots so 1 division will have two teams in the top four and the second team can be anywhere from 2-4.

Not sure that I share the same level of enthusiasm as others for the Celtics this season. We will be much improved however - and I hope some of these playoff predictions are right! Or alternatively we hit a an all new low of lows and sit in the bottom 3.
One or the other I hope - no in betweens!

Lbj and durant might not be the only two horses in the mvp race this season. KD won't even get the season started until December, and lbj seems to be signaling that he intends on playing fewer than 82 games and maybe capping himself in the 35 minute area. These guys still figure to be in the conversation at the end of the season but it leaves some wiggle room for somebody else to make a claim.
Perhaps Anthony Davis? He is projected by most to have a statistically monstrous year. If he can do that and lead his team to 50 wins AND A spot in the playoffs then I think he needs to be considered.
Maybe Tony Parker? There have been a couple of years where he has been on the fringe of the conversation for the award but then derailed by some freak injury. IF he stays healthy all season, while Tim and manu continue to back away from the spotlight in their twilight years, it should be then evident who the mvp on the Spurs is, and with possibly the best record in the league (again) then I would consider him a Darkhorse.
Russell Westbrook? The table is set for him to have a huge year particularly in these first several weeks. The personal numbers will be there for him, but to get the award I think he has to lead his team to the best record in the west.
