Actually im of the opinion that curry is going to take a small hit to his numbers this yr Thompson is poised to really break out this yr and with the team screwing him over just recently I believe Thompson is going to show the league he is a max player.. I'm not saying Thompson would be a MVP candidate or anything but I'm thinking an increase in Thompson means Curry drops a little bit

My predictions... WEST 1. Golden State - Call it a hunch, but I think Kerr's really going to take as a coach. 2. San Antonio - The Walking Dead. You simply can't count them out. 3. LAC - Chris Paul poised to MAYBE get his first trip to a conference final? 4. Memphis - I *think* this might be the deepest roster in the NBA, and they are going to scare a lotta teams. 5. OKC - This isn't so much about the players (I think Westbrook/Durant are extremely talented), but about the coaching. Limited. 6. Portland - I think they make the playoffs, I think that they have gotten better merely to having another year under their belt. 7. New Orleans - Anthony Davis might well be MVP this season. 8. Dallas - Talented, and will beat some of the higher ranked teams... but are going to have difficulties due to age. Nelson's going to be pretty good at point.
Note: Houston... I think they will disappoint this year. Dwight'll get pissy, the Beard will continue to be a matador on D. And their depth is turrrrible.
EAST 1. Cleveland - Too good a story to pass up. 2. Chicago - The tradition of overplaying players to the point of where they get injured isn't going to stop any time soon... but should be abated with the bigs somewhat due to having more depth there than the last few years. 3. Washington - Could really surprise a few this year, I think Wall's going to be very good. 4. Toronto - I really like this team... 5. Charlotte - Really started to click last season, and I think Kemba's the real deal. Al's perfect for this team. 6. Atlanta - Not sure about this... but who else? Have talent, and they're poised to be better than last year. Maybe. 7. Brooklyn - Below .500, but make the playoffs. Welcome to the East. 8. Miami - Get in the playoffs by virtue of - yet again - the East being pretty shallow. Wade to miss more than 40% of the season... and yet have ESPN all over his ass about how great he is without LeBron. Bosh fails to get his due, having the better season (than Wade), but less heralded.
Note: Detroit could well bump one of the bottom 3 out.

Mine (to borrow Malice's format ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) WEST1. San Antonio - Depth. 2. Golden State - Totally agree with Malice, real coach=great success, only caveat is big man health. 3. LAC - SF is a big ? but I think they'll be fine 4. OKC - A little adversity early but they have to talent to overcome it. 5. Memphis - great mix of talent, hopefully one of their wings steps up. 6. Dallas - Offensive firepower+D in the post and plenty of D off the bench, solid experience and depth at PG. 7. Houston - good enough to roll in the regular season, bad enough to get thumped in the playoffs. 8. Portland - last spot is going to be a dog fight between Portland, NOP, Sac, and possibly Phoenix. NOP's starting 5 might be better than Port's but is younger + inexperienced and need a season to gel. King's need a PG, Phoenix needs a big man in the post. EAST1. Cleveland - Could be the best offense ever, need a year to gel though. 2. Chicago - can Rose stay healthy, big man rotation is SOLID. 3. Washington - Depth. 4. Miami - health 5. Toronto - deeper than you think 6. Charlotte - Lance is going to have a good season once they give him the ball. 7. Atlanta - Hoford returns? 8. Detroit - real coach that likes big men (they have 2) and 3s.

I'll take...
West 1. LA Clippers 2. Spurs 3. Warriors 4. OKC 5. Grizzlies 6. Mavs 7. Rockets 8. Denver (head says Portland but there's a surprise team every year, I'll go with Denver as this year's entrant)
1 through 7 seems fairly straightforward to me, but the order will largely depend on whoever stays the healthiest. I realise after the whole Aldridge thing followed by me picking Portland to miss the playoffs will make me seem like the biggest Blazers hater haha (I'm absolutely not). But I wasn't a fan of what they did in the offseason (lost Mo Williams, signed Chris Kaman) and they still remain perilously thin. Absolutely everything had to go right for them healthwise to win 50 games last year, but I don't know if you can count on that again.
And surely, we won't have the same 8 teams make the playoffs again so I'm going off the grid a bit with the Nuggets. But the core of the team is not dissimilar to the one that won 57 games 2 years ago, they finally get Chandler/Gallo/Javale healthy(ish), Lawson is still a stud, and Faried really turned into a beast towards the end of last year. They added Afflalo without giving up anything of significance, and they've had a year now to adjust from Karl to Shaw.
Don't see the Pelicans as a realistic contender for the 8 seed quite yet (give them another year), but with the exponential improvements Davis is making each year that wouldn't shock me if they did make it either. Phoenix will be in the hunt again as well. West is going to be brutal as always (perhaps even more than ever).
East 1. Cleveland 2. Chicago 3. Toronto 4. Atlanta 5. Washington 6. Charlotte 7. Miami 8. Brooklyn
The East is where it gets more interesting, and people seem to have far more wide ranging views after the top 2. Toronto was on something like a 50 win pace since the Rudy Gay trade, and were top ten in both defense and offense (one of only a handful of teams to pull off that feat). Got a great mix of vets, as well as a few young guys who still have room for some more internal development in Jonas and Ross.
Atlanta will be an absolute nightmare to guard, and they'll get Horford back for the year.
Washington was lots of fun in the playoffs last year but its almost like people forgot how inconsistent (and at times unwatchable) they were during the regular season. Whittman is not a good coach, and they'll be without Beal for the first month of the season. Their wings are either really old and unable to play big minutes, or really young and completely unproven.
Miami is really difficult to project because of Wade's health. If he has a big comeback year they have the talent to compete for a top 4 seed; if he's the same guy who kept running out of gas and needs to sit 30 games in order to remain effective they'll be hard pressed to make the playoffs.
Last spot really comes down to Brooklyn or Detroit (the SVG factor), but as much as I love Stan van, Lionel Hollins is a pretty good coach in his own right and they have the better roster right now, I think.

Whoa did you mean to write that about Cleveland Reever? Could be the best offense ever? Come on now. Yes indeed. Kevin Love's favorite shot is the left wing 3. He led the league in shots from that area last year, 40 more than second place JR Smith. Chris Bosh's favorite shot is the right elbow jumper and DWade prefers the paint to the 3, so the Cavs are going to have a ton more room to drive to the rim than the Heat did last year. The spacing is going to be ridiculous. How do you defend a LeBron PNR around a Kevin Love screen? Outside of Chicago and the Spurs who has the horses to defend Kyrie, Waiters, Lebron AND KLove? I'm not saying that it's going to be Steve Nash pretty or Spurs level ball movement, I'm just saying that they are going to simply put THE most points on the board, maybe ever.

You'd be fapping hard over that. The above would be the EXACT same thing for me ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)
