Playoff predictions...
Round 1. Golden State vs New Orleans The Pelicans very recently got most of their pieces back from injury. This could be a tougher series than the warriors are expecting. I think N.O. can get one, maybe 2 games. GS in 6..
Houston vs Dallas. Maybe it will be different in the playoffs but it doesn't seem like the Rondo and Parsons acquisitions have worked out as well as had once been speculated. There doesn't seem to be anyone on the mavs thatt can remotely passably guard Harden. Can't ever underestimate Carlisle though, and Houston is so dumb sometimes. I'll say Houston in 6.
San Antonio vs LA Clippers. This draw is a disaster for the Clippers. Cliff Paul will get burned on offenseby a healthy Tony Parker and smothered defensively by the Claw. San Antonio in 6. Or. less.
Memphis vs Portland. Both teams ccoming in banged up, but Portland is more banged up. If they were both fully healthy I would probably still pick Memphis, but as it is in Portland without Mathews, Afflalo for a while, Batum out for something or other, even CJ Mccullum sprained his ankle right before the playoffs. Memphis in 4.
In the East...
Cleveland vs Boston. The Cavs really have no business losing any of these. I'll go out on a limb and say Boston will win... 1 game. Cavs in 5.
Chicago vs The Bucks. The Bulls are not quite as strong at this point of the season as I thought they would be, I think they can be given some trouble by the Bucks. Chicago's offense mysteriously vanishes from time to time, and I think Milwaukees defense can make the Bulls particularly miserable for stretches. If only they still had Parker ... I think the Bulls win in a tough 6.
Atlanta vs. BBrooklyn. The Hawks had a great season They have shown the East what a western conference style is capable of against some of these slow witted Eastern conf defences. They shouldn't feel to high on themselves though, I think the Nets represent a legit upset threat to their playoff run. BroLo is coming in hot aand rested,... Most of those old guys are ppretty healthy and rested as a matter of fact. This will be a good test of how good the Hawks really are. I'll say Atlanta in 5.
Toronto vs. Washington.
Conventional wisdom says the Raptors have grrown and are ready to take the next step after last season's loss in the final seconds of game 7 last year. But not every team makes a stride forward the following year like they are supposed to (looking at you, OKC) and in fact they take a step back.. Ithink the difference in a close series is going to be Wall vs Lowry. I'm not convinced Lowry is fully healthy and I think Wall will expose that over the length of the series. Washington in 7.

Round 2. Conference semi finals.
Atlanta vs Washington. (I think I have these matchups right). Washington is the kind of team that the hawks should take advantage of. If the Haewks are on their game it should only take them 5 games. But I'll predict it will take them 6 games... this playoff stuff is still pretty new to Atlanta... it still remains to be seen how their team philosophy will hold together as they go deeper. How committed they really are to their own system is going to make all the difference on how far they go.The conference finals will be the Hawks first real test.
Cleveland vs Chicago. Must see tv. I said at the begininng of this thread that I didn't think Cleveland could get by Chicago... that was before Cleveland got JR Smith and the Moz. It's a tough call. My brain is telling me Chicago but but my gut says Cleveland is going to sneak by. ughh.. brain it is... I'll take Chicago in 7.
San Antonio vs Houston. Before last week, Houston was the team that scared me the most in the west for my hometeam Spurs. Then we beat them in back to back ggames where it looked like the Spurs had a lot of the Rockets' stuff figured out. I like SA to win in game 5 in Houston. The Spurs are quietly heallllllthy at the right moment in the year and the march to the finals is on.
GGolden State vs Memphis. The Grizzlies are pretty tough, but I think they are a little too banged up to deal with a machine like the Warriors.GS in 5.
Conference Finals.
Chicago vs Atlanta. All about system for the Hawks. TThe Hawks have the pieces and the talent designed to take out a team like the Bulls. If they waiver from their system and show any panic then they will lose. This is more about how mentally tough Atlanta is... I'll take the Hawks in 6.
Golden State vs San Antonio. The Spurs beat the Warriors recently in the playoffs and I'm sureboth tteams are fully aware of it. I think the Spurs have them beat though... IF San Antonio loses this series it will be because they were not able to keep up with or compensate for their athleticism. I don't think that will be the case because the only real difference in this series from the last time GS and SA played inn the playoffs is the improvement of Dramond GGreen, and I don't think that's goinng to be ennough.
NBA Finals.
San Antonio vs Atlanta. I like Atl as much as anyone, but it's time they go away now. SA has all their key positions covered, not to mentionn SA has the Hawks entire playbook memorized. SA wins 6th title in 6.

ooh ooh, can I play?
Washington vs Toronto - tough matchup. I'd have to say Washington in 6 games. John Wall and Brad Beal have a point to prove, and Gortat will nullify Jonas somewhat. Both tough Euro players, so that will be the matchup to watch in this series.
Milwaukee vs Bulls - Assuming Rose stays healthy (thats a MASSIVE assumption) the Bulls should beat Kidd's team in 6. Greek Freak will add some spice but the Bulls are rolling and they are just too tough.
Boston vs Cleveland - the C's are rolling right now, and have played their hearts out and really come together as a team. Unfortunately for them, so have the Cavs. I think Boston will steal 1 game at home, but in the end, Cavs in 5
Brooklyn vs Atlanta - The Hawks are extremely well rounded, and probably the perfect team to beat Brooklyn. The Nets limped over the line, and the Hawks will kick them out in a clean sweep... but you know the NBA. Its never that easy, so Im going to say Hawks in 5
New Orleans vs Golden State - I'd love to see the Brow go deep into the playoffs. Im just happy he made it there. In saying that, Warriors in 4. They've got the brooms ready.
Dallas vs Houston - a very interesting match indeed. I cant stand Houston, but man they have played well lately, and Dwight is back and healthy at the right time. If only they could convince Harden to play some D. This game will come down to 7, like all Texas battles should. as much as I hate to say it, Houston in 7.
Portland vs Memphis - I think this is the hardest round to split actually. Both teams match up really well againt each other with potent post players and quick guards. Batum being out will hurt the Blazers a touch, but he should be back before the series is out. Portland in 7
San Antonio vs LA Clippers - what a miss match... this one comes down to playing styles. You have the half court slow, calculated grind of Pop's Spurs, who are more battle tested than any team in the league, vs the run and gun fast paced, transition heavy Clippers. I actually love watching these 2 teams go head to head, purely for the massive difference in style. I think Doc's boys will wear them down and the old boys will faulter. Clippers in 7

Bulls vs Warriors Finals... bring it on.
First yeah since 1998 that neither Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant or Dwyane Wade will NOT be in the Finals. Amazing stat that as far as I know, no other 3 players in history can claim that kind of domination.

Round 2 Predictions:
So I'm going to join in the fun.
GSW v Memphis: on paper these two teams should have a very tough match-up, particularly given the front-line of Memphis should give Bogut and Green as much as they can handle. With that said, the lack of a 3pt threat kills them against GSW. GSW seemed to have a real advantage over Memphis in the regular season, i see them taking this series in 5.
Houston v LAC: Fresh off a long series against the Spurs, LAC come up against a team with two bigs who have the athleticism to keep with Griffin and Jordan, and a dominant wing scorer/facilitator. Houston will probably look to run LAC off their legs but I'm not sure if they've got enough to slow LAC defensively. I'm gonna so this one goes to 7 again with Houston taking the series in an upset.
Cleveland v Chicago: Realistically this is the match everyone wanted to see for the conference finals, and with both teams coming off tough series with some young upstarts (Celtics and Bucks) it'll be interesting to see who can progress. The loss of Love and JR Smith (2 games) really hurts the championship prospects of Cleveland and I think Chicago is starting to click. Chicago has too many options me thinks even if Kyrie and Lebron go nuts, they don't have enough other scoring options to get through Chicago. Chicago in 6.
Atlanta v Washington: Washington surprised me with how easily the went past Toronto, while Atlanta surprised me with how much they struggled to get over Brooklyn. On form, I think Washington is playing better ball at the moment. Teague is struggling at exactly the wrong time for Atlanta also. If Washington can spread the scoring and defend well enough I think they can take this. So I'm going to tip Washington in 7.
So a couple of upsets is what I'm tipping with the conference finals becoming:
West - GSW and Houston East - Chicago and Washington
Then I'd be predicting GSW in 6 and Chicago in 6 for a GSW v Chicago championship series.

GSW look strong at the moment, it's a tight race in the West but the Warriors look clearly on top at the moment
Bogut needs to keep healthy
