UA, i've noticed Alex Len as well. Supposedly he's got a very similar game to Valanciunas, which is a compliment IMO.
As you said, it's too bad so many of the C's in this draft are already injured. I'm really struggling to figure out which way to go with my no.3 pick in the rookie draft. Guys like Bennett are big risk guys to me. I've never really been a fan of undersized pf's with athleticism, because for every Larry Johnson there are about 10 Robert Traylors (may he rest in peace).

Very true pm. I tried drafting Thomas Robinson last year And maybe he will turn out to be something good but his rookie season was certainly not useful for fantasy purposes. Noel And Macklemore seem to be the consensus one and two picks this draft, It is the three Through seven Rookies that look like they will be interesting as potential impact players. In many mock drafts I have seen those spots are occupied by names likeotto porter, burke, shabaz, oledepo, bennett, and Len. Though I have noticed a number of Europeans sneaking up the draft board Recently. It's a good thing we will get to see these guys in summer league before we draft, Some of the names in the top 10 are completely unknown to me So it will be good to get a look at them. Draft lottery is already next Tuesday.
On a personal note, game four in the Golden State was annoying for me. The dummies had them on the ropes and let them off the hook. Credit to the Warriors for giving it all they got.
Earlier this year I called Indiana to be the heats Biggest threat in the east And now it looks like that is the matchup we will be treated to. Assuming Indiana does not choke away their series with New York, My doubts that Miami can get past Indiana are ever so increasing.wade Is clearly fighting through an injury and his next chance to rest will be the off-season So it is reasonably safe to assume he will not be his usual cruel self for the rest of this playoff series season. I think it will come down to Indiana just being too big for Miami. Indiana has athletes and size at all five positions, And they have athletes and size coming off their bench. So long as they don't overthink it or get cocky and start running their mouths I think Indiana has a legitimate shot.
There goes Memphis giving Oklahoma City all the medicine that they can handle. It was wishful thinking on my part that I picked the clippers to beat Memphis in the first round... That's pretty much the last and only team I wanted to see in the playoffs for my spurs. Both conference finals are looking to be very physical. The playoffs have been fun and interesting up to now, But it's war from this point forward.

The spurs appear to be completely focused. Memphis is a great counter attack team so I would not be surprised if they pulled off a win in game two, But I think the decisive game one victory for the spurs is a good sign moving forward. I still kind of feel like I need to see it to believe it but this is encouraging... I don't really care so much about how many three-pointers the team hit, I was more impressed by how much difficulty Memphis had scoring against our defense. We owe Memphis for a couple years ago, Would be nice to get this one over with in 4 or 5.

This. Is how. We do. It. This is how we do it!!
I am proud of the work I have put in with my team this season. I have faithfully adhered to Every one of my lucky playoff rituals. I take a nap Through the first quarter of every game. If that nap comes to early or too late or not at all then we lose. I have also Avoided posting any Spurs analysis on the Internet Because if I mention the names of too many people on the roster they WILL Get injured. I have vowed to refuse to believe it is real until the hardware is in hand. I noticed that when Timmy was passed the western conference trophy he almost immediately handed it on to somebody else... So I know that he and I are on the same page there. Good to see. That's right, the spurs in the finals has nothing to do with them, It has everything to do with my irrational superstitions.

Looks like Miami vs San Antonio for 2013...I just can't see the Pacers beating the Heat twice in a row to reach the Finals. Wade and Bosh need to lift though.

It will take an amazing effort by LeBron, because Wade/Bosh aren't going to turn it around fast enough.
Go Pacers...

Now that the Spurs are in there and rested, I can't see them losing this series. They have the inside ability to hurt Miami (something the Thunder didn't have last season), they have the outside shooting, defense and best of all depth.
Miami were lucky that they survived Indy and whilst they're a great basketball team, there's only so much LeBron can do. Wade is an injured mess, Bosh is soft, and everyone else on that roster is just simply not that "good". Spurs have the perfect roster to defeat a Miami team that isn't known for being a good outside team. Pop should change it up and run different defensive schemes as usual however I cannot see them not using a zone. The Heats two best shooters in Allen and Miller are far too hot and cold and unless LeBron shoots lights out, running a zone with this spurs defense will be too tough for Miami to handle.
Hope the Spurs win, Tim Duncan is a great guy and such a professional human being. He deserves his 5th ring.

I hope you are right too. I must admit I am too emotionally attached at this point to have what I would consider to be on objective opinion. I will give the spurs the first half of game one to be rusty as hell, But after that I won't give them any excuses. I will expect them to get stronger as the series drags on... I hope Kawhi Is ready; His effort on LBJ Is the key to the series.

I agree. I think the spurs will be rusty to start game one and lose because of this (game 1 is a must win for Miami). I think Spurs win game 2 (almost a must win for them). I think they will win 2 of 3 at home and then take it all in 6. This series wil show how good Kawhi is.

Kinda... didn't play out that way. Not that I'm upset!
I think the keys to game 2 are Bosh/Wade. If they look at all lethargic/injured, then there's a good chance SA can win G2. That happens? Done...

I probably say this every year, But this 2-3-2 Format for the finals is stupid. Supposedly it is supposed to help out the teams wear And tear through the traveling grind. What traveling grind? Everybody has a private jet to move their teams around with these days. Even if that was their intention, They do a really crappy job of implementing it. Why have two games off in a row between game one and game to, Then on the travel day between game two and game three you only have one day off? Either way the finals play out in about the same number of days so you can't say that the 232 Format takes less time.
Anyways, it's nice to have evil Joey Crawford out of the referee rotation early in the series for us.
Nobody said it was going to be easy.manu Is just killing me with his rickety play... His mind is still sharp but the body is really starting to betray him.
Spo Made some clever adjustments. Playing three games at home isn't going to be enough, pop and tony Have got to solve this new way Miami is playing the screens.

So last night I was checking out the Miami Heat blog live game thread over at sbnation, You know, Because I enjoy the misery of others.
It was a lovely read. In the conference finals I followed along with the Memphis fans blog And though they were not at all happy about getting swept by San Antonio, I have to say that they were largely very objective and respectful. Miami fans are the total polar opposite of that.
The thread started out cheerfully enough... The ATT Center Looks like a dump. LBJ Is just as good as Michael Jordan. Dwayne Wade is the best shooting Guard In history second only to Michael Jordan. The spurs are dirty whiners who flop more than any other team in the league. Rio and cole Can totally stop the overrated Tony Parker. The heat will dominate the paint because Tim Duncan is nothing compared to Roy Hibbert. (Apparently my boy Roy really got into heat fans's Heads because they are terrified of him)
As you can imagine it gets less flattering for San Antonio from there.
It is dimwitted, un Knowledgeable, shitty, dooshbag People like Miami Heat fans that make one smile and thank the cosmos for the existence of karma. It was pure joy to watch them fall apart.
Wade sucks. Rio Needs to be benched forever. He is horrible. Some fucking superstar LeBron is. Soft! We need five more Mike Miller's! Wade should not be allowed to shoot ever again. Spo Is an idiot. This is bullshit I am going to bed.
I left my ass off reading that blog. Awesome how heat fans can completely turn against their own team within the span of a single quarter. The Spurs did not put on a smoting Of biblical proportions on Miami, no, Rather the heat let the Spurs win for reasons I am still not really clear on.
Don't get me wrong, I am not calling the championship for San Antonio just yet. As I said before I am waiting to see the hardware in my hands first. However, I am going to enjoy this game three victory for the stand alone piece of artwork that it is. As the final seconds in the fourth quarter were ticking away, San Antonio fans were mockingly chanting the heat's very own little oh ooooh ohhh ohh oh crowd Chant, The perfect sarcastic passive aggressive taunt As The celebrated Superior defending champions moped off the floor. I know it is only one game, But I can enjoy this game for what it is: One shining glorious moment in time When Miami fans got their own bullshit shoved right back down their throats.
At the very end of that Miami game thread somebody, Maybe probably a Spurs fan, Posted one last parting comment...
"Hey LeBron, how does Kawhi's ass taste?"
Can't say I entirely approve of that line of commentary, but I have to admit it cracked me up. No pun intended. Couldn't have happened to a better group of fans.

It doesn't help that a lot of these heat "fans" are bandwagon supporters. Speaking as a long time Mavs fan, Christ knows the frustration of years of failure. I'd never turn on my team though. Never!!!
The Spurs have surprised me this year. I thought they would exit like usual against a young enthusiastic team like a Memphis. Hell I even thought GSW would give them big problems.
Regardless that I support the Mavs, I actually support Texan teams in all sports and have always respected the Spurs organisation. I've been cheering (or rooting as you guys say in the states) the Spurs in this series and I'm hoping they win it all. As I said earlier, Timmy deserves his 5th ring. Whilst the Spurs bore me with their fundamental style of basketball it's a proven success. Oh and Kawhi is fucking awesome, haven't seen a whole lot of him but wow, impressive
On Miami though is there a more overrated player out there than Chris Bosh? For years Dirk has been smashed by basketball fans for being a soft defensive player and crappy rebounder. There's some truth to it but at least the dude is clutch and makes his shots. Bosh is a nothing more than a glorified chucker who shouldn't be shooting anywhere near outside of 15 feet. Start posting up you big bird. Timmy destroyed him on the offensive in game 3, absolutely destroyed him. That being said he should not be used as a Center. Miami need to get themselves a low post presence next season.
Also I can see Wade's career heading downhill from here. He's never really been a great shooter and has always relied on contact calls to get his points. He looks a shell of his former self. His body can't handle it.

Yeah, Well said. During the season San Antonio/Dallas/Houston Fans hate each other, Except when it comes to championships at which time we support each other. I remember that Dallas over Miami series being very very sweet. Dirk is pretty highly regarded around here And it was great to see him get his ring, Particularly at the expense of Miami. As I recall Miami was heavily favored that year also.
Tonight's game four is going to be tricky. Tony Parker has a hamstring injury and will be a gametime decision. If he sits then the Spurs depth and overall team concept will be put to the test. Corey Joseph may get the start, And though he is not Parker he I think is at least the equal to cole and chalmers. Cory has put in a ton of work this season and I think he is chomping at the bit to show everybody what he can do. Patty Mills would also get an increase in valuable minutes, And though he is near the end of the bench I can tell you he is definitely no towel waving joke. If they underestimate Patty He will make them pay with his hustle defense and three point accuracy.
I was starting to think Gary neals season was going to be a loss due to all of his nagging injuries. I have been high on Gary all year because I know what a pure scoring machine he is capable of being, Great to see him finally get off. My favorite play of game 3 was his Shot at the end of the first half.
Miami is in a bit of a spot as far as their long-term goes. If they win the title this year then they will not have learned anything and they will bring their roster back next season intact. If they lose, Then like you said They are going to need to put serious thought into blowing up heart of that team. Bosh's Departure is probably a good start. If Miami has not correctly addressed their deficiencies by this time next season, They could suddenly find themselves at the mercy of LeBron and his Consideration of leaving for greener pastures. The decision, The sequel.
