Reggie Jackson should be good for the Knicks, and Shump is a good fit for the Cavs. Not sure about JR Smith though. I think Waiters will be fine for the rest of the season with OKC but may chafe this summer. Reggie Jackson apparently isnt going anywhere... so the Thunder get Waiters for basically nothing (and keep Jackson), the Knicks give up JR and Shump to clear some salary, and the Cavs get JR and Shump. Thunder win this round for sure! Wow Thunder with a huge win. The Cavs losing to the Sixers just adds to the lulz

Apparently JR and LeBron are good friends, and have trained together in Akron in past summers, so that might help gel the whole team together a bit. I just hope none of this affects Delly too much. He's just slipping into a really good groove and an excellent backup.

Apparently New York was not able to ultimately wrestle Reggie Jackson away from Oklahoma. Still, they were able to clear the table a little and unload some salary and get some pics for the future. Waiving sam dambert doesn't hurt either... I imagine Sam may be getting a call from the Mavericks in the near future. Too bad for Reggie Jackson may be, I know the Knicks suck but I think he would have relish the opportunity to lead his own team.
Atlanta is chewing up and spitting out the Western Conference on this road trip. Very impressive. Of all the former spurs coaches out in the league I think Coach bud has done the best job of re-creating the single-minded San Antonio offense.

I believe that under salary cap rules Dalembert cannot be picked up by the Mavs this season. Shame really, as a backup 5 he'd be all good.

I think this deal seems pretty sensible for all parties. Which is a weird thing to say, describing something that JR Smith and Dion Waiters is involved in as being "sensible" lmao.
But OKC is betting that Waiters is better than anyone they would draft with the late first round pick they give up, Cleveland is betting on Shump being a 3 and D guy and JR as a sixth man gunner, and the Knicks get salary cap relief and a second rounder.

Waiters was always going to be the bait for Cleveland, ideal fit for OKC next season imo
Cleveland needed a healthier shooter than Mike Miller, Mozgov-Love-James-Smith-Irving does look good, maybe next year

I'm really hoping that Waiters can sort things out. I like what I see from in him spurts, and he has produced when playing as the lead player. I reckon his gotta grow up a bit first though. Maybe the strong culture at OKC can help him do that.

I think the NBA trade deadline is this Monday, February 16. It's been pretty quiet, I hope some last minute deals don't screw up my fantasy teams.

I wish yahoo would make this week and next week count as one week. There is a week break in between so it would actually make it more even.

The suns gave up on that three point guard lineup faster than I thought they would. I guess that means Gerald Green has suddenly become relevant again.
Cant say I entirely understand what Philadelphia is up to. They draft lottery players so that they can trade them away for pics, then select players with those pics and trade them away for more pics later… it's like they're rebuilding process resets back to step one every single year. They always seem to be pointing in the right direction but they never seem to actually move in the right direction.
KJ McDaniels going to Houston was kind of interesting for Houston if not perplexing for Philly. That might turn out to be good for his career, learning from some older guys that play his position… though I guess he has probably lost all fantasy value for the for seeable future.
Isaiah Thomas going to Boston and Reggie Jackson going to Detroit are pretty interesting. Thomas will probably push smart for playing time just like he's done everywhere else he has played, and in Detroit we will finally see if Jackson can back up all his talk for wanting to run his own team. Jackson has been somewhat disappointing the season so hopefully this change is just what the doctor ordered.

The Rockets have built a very menacing team on D - Ariza, T Jones, Josh Smith, Brewer and now McDaniels are all highly active players on D and they are all capable on offense. Not to mention they are waiting for Howard to recover. I like Reggie Jackson, I think he can be one of those players who can blossom when the opportunity finally opens for him (ie. Bledsoe). Not sure what will happen next season when Jennings is healthy. Jennings-Jackson-Caldwell Pope-Meeks is a tricky rotation to manage

San Antonio currently on a four game losing streak. Have to admit I'm getting a little bit hopeful… just need New Orleans to get their act together a little and catch up so the Spurs can drop into the lottery, then maybe we can get lucky and draft okafor with the first pick and be set for the next 15 years again.
